Jena is the Director of Research and Innovation for the Sport and Spine Rehab brand of companies, including the Sport & Spine Rehab Clinical Research Foundation. Her ten years of clinical practice as an Athletic Trainer combined with her understanding of the research management process gives Jena the experience, expertise, and leadership skills required to manage strategic partners’ needs.  Her role for the Foundation includes identifying funding opportunities, presenting and publishing current research findings, and developing and conducting research studies. Additionally, Jena’s role with Kaizenovation Advisors is to oversee product development, provide customer service support, and ensure human centered design remains a focus in all aspects of the business.

 

Her areas of research have focused on injury prevention, best practices, effective treatment techniques, product efficacy, concussion evaluation, and patient reported outcomes. She works with the Research Site Coordinators at all five locations of Sport and Spine Rehab, providing study procedures training and oversight. Through her multi-disciplinary research experience, she has become skilled in creating study designs, coordinating the day to day operations of large scale research studies, and communicating with research team members.

 

Jena has a BS in Kinesiology with an Athletic Training emphasis from Penn State University and a Master of Science in Education from Old Dominion University. As an Athletic Trainer, she has worked with numerous nationally ranked NCAA Division I teams and attended various NCAA tournaments. She is a licensed Certified Athletic Trainer in VA and MD and holds certifications for Instructor of American Red Cross Professional Rescuer, Basic Life Support for the Health Care Provider, and CPR/AED.
